- I am a Native Alaskan Boat Captain, licensed by the US Coast Guard as Master of Freight and Towing (any vessel except sail) All US waters up to 200 miles offshore, including rivers. Boatbuilder, former fisherman and crabber, I grew up and spent most of my life on the water. It is my version of the North American Merchant Sailing Schooner, popular from around 1850 and into the early 20th Century.
That's a lot of knots to tie by hand!! It's really looking good!
