I am a Native Alaskan Boat Captain, licensed by the US Coast Guard as Master of Freight and Towing (any vessel except sail) All US waters up to 200 miles offshore, including rivers. Boatbuilder, former fisherman and crabber, I grew up and spent most of my life on the water. I am a Christian husband, father and grandfather and now spend a lot of my time building boats from scratch. My Captain's Log is a chronicle of the sailboat now in progress. It is my version of the North American Merchant Sailing Schooner, popular from around 1850 and into the early 20th Century.
